A.I. On Tour

Whitney Houston is going on tour again very soon. Just to be clear…This is an A.I. version. She passed away a long time ago. I just happen to have written a story about this phenomenon called: “See The Beatles…LIVE!” And the story is available in one of my Books entitled: “The Future Is Closer Than you Think- Tales From The Day After Tomorrow”…I think it’s “book 1”
Virtual concerts are coming. Frank Zappa is already on tour I hear…Competeing with his son for audiences I’d gather. There are others and this field will only grow. I’ll bet they’re going through HI Rez footage at the Michael Jackson “compound” as well. This phenomenon will usher in another facet of A.I. integrating into our lives. In a very short while, I’d imagine that if you wanted you might have a conversation with Ms Houston or (shudder) Mr Zappa (who was famous for not suffering fools!) or even Tupac Shakur who has already hit the touring “road” as an A.I. “Construct”, doing his tuunage.

The difference is: we know that this is a conceit and agree to it…But what happens when (NOT if!) the “powers that be” decide to trot out some other “star” and it might be without permission, or without proper support, or -even worse- without a real knowledge of who this person was …Here, I’m thinking, Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison or Jimi Henmdrix…The only thing stopping “them” (for now) is the dearth of high quality film that might be translated into a high quality 3D hologaphic image, but with technology running far ahead of us into the future, can anyone who has ever been filmed ever be out of reach? Your Grandma..a lost child?  A lost love? All this and more will be available- for a price. So go see the amazing talent that was Whitney Houston, but be aware of what is happening, because within our lifetime, that distinction might not be evident.

About Zaslow Crane

Zaslow Crane wrote his first Science fiction story when he was 11 This was after an uncle had given him a Charmin case full of sci fi paperbacks- all the old masters: A.E.Van Vogt, Cordwainer Smith, Heinlen, Bradbury, and dozens more. After that, he never looked back. Zaslow Crane has contributed to numerous magazines and newspapers over many years, and has been a contributing editor for a national magazine. He has been published a couple hundred times for non fiction. Regarding fiction, he writes primarily SciFi and was one of the creative talents behind Smoke and Mirrors, a parsec nominated podcast that "re-imagined" the Twilight Zone and, which ran for 2 1/2 years. He has written over two hundred short stories, 7 or 8 novellas and two novels, one of which "explains" a great many advancements in human technology. He likes mindless sort of work, because it frees that other part of his brain to work on story ideas, so if you see him, say, digging a ditch, you'll know that he’s really writing. He lives in a tiny house on a hill in Central California. His home overlooks the ocean - IF you're willing to stand on tip toes and crane your neck. Just a bit.
